Parents and Guardians of Mason City Community School District Students:

The Mason City Community School District is excited to offer a tool to help the district keep in communication regarding school closings, important announcements or other emergency situations. Through the generous donations by Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa and Independent Insurance Agents of Cerro Gordo County, the district purchased the School Notification System (SNS) from Information Services USA.

SNS is an easy to use tool that allows the district to keep in touch with parents. How does it work? Visit the site http://mason-city.k12sns.com, enter your computer e-mail, text pager or cell phone e-mail address and select the category of alerts you wish to receive. You may subscribe to more than one e-mail and/or text pager or cell phone e-mail address, and you are not limited to selecting just one category.

When the district issues an alert, you will receive an e-mail or very brief text message with the alert information. Text space is limited, so please use this system as a supplement, not a substitute, for traditional means of learning about school cancellations.
